Nurturing Your Narrative by Unboxing you Authentic Self

Updated: Apr 18, 2024

God comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1: 3- 5

Now, I’m sure you are asking girl what does that mean? – Well I’m going to tell you ladies just listen up! Lol

I sometimes wake up empty, but I’ve learned over the years to become the best version of myself; I had to nurture my narrative by unboxing my authentic self... even when life gets tough. Was it easy? Chile...nawh. I’ve often reflected on asking my younger self, what’s stopping you from taking action? Let me explain. I had to gain clarity...Confidence was taught as I was growing up. (nurturing my narrative) But I lost my view due to the environmental activities. (social media, friends, family, co-workers, managers, etc.) I became frustrated…I started to reflect on how they acted, how they responded, how they weren’t inclusive, and the list goes on and on. Have you ever lost the view of who you are by those very things? – *come on now…I know I’m not the only one in this room that has. Often, we settle for what we think is right instead of ultimately choosing our own path or happiness.

Fear is always a challenge, how to deal with it and what God has to say about it. You see I had to learn how to use my voice to facilitate what God wanted for me not what I wanted for myself.

Let me tell you this story; about this woman that had to learn that postponed success is only the alignment of God stepping in. A woman who discovers that the source of her identity comes from God and in God alone. But when She WOKE UP!!!Again, I had to nurture my narrative from within because the answer was always Jesus. Once you decide what kind of life you want- you will start to nurture your own narrative.Ladies let me tell you God has put something in you that only you have the power to release.Did you hear that, God has put something in you that only you have the power to release! – There was this time.... I was compromising who I was personally to become who I wished to be professionally. Now don’t get it twisted, I never lost integrity, or did anything unethical. I wanted to get to the next level so bad that I lost myself in the mix. I lost my voice. My voice was vital to share but the timing wasn’t right. I will tell you, I was Faithfull but Fighting!  I was that women that wanted more; but God had other plans for me. I wanted to be in that room, but God didn’t want me there. Why? Because He knew that room wouldn’t allow me to be my authentic self. But when She WOKE UP!!!  yeah that’s right at one point and sometimes now, I don’t always have it together. I’m grateful for the process as I wouldn’t be able to help others. You see I’ve influenced many in real life…now I’m sharing it with others. Get Ready! Often, we want it now and God doesn’t have that in our plans. We must trust the process. I know it’s hard, trust me; been there with the glass half full and empty in some cases. – Nevertheless, we must PAUSE and Re-GROUP to obtain the fruits of our labor.

I want to leave you with some tips for Nurturing your Narrative:

  •    Find out who is really for you. – some people are placed in your life to show you what is not good for you. But when SHE WOKE UP!!!

  •   Everyone is not for you. Some people are not assigned to your impact! – a friend of mine told me, just because they are clapping doesn’t mean they are clapping for you. But when SHE WOKE UP!!!

  •  Begin to accept the woman in the mirror. You are the only one that can make you go for it! – Be You!

  •   Your circle should be relevant to you – they should want to see you WIN.

  •  Don’t allow anyone to tell your story. – they called me by my mistakes, but I became the mold that others followed right in their presence. Be your biggest advocate. God will give you favor right in front of them. But when SHE WOKE UP!!!

  • Be grateful for the process- because you never know how God is using you and your troubles to comfort others.

  •   Sometimes taking a step back is your next step forward. – there will be trials and turbulence but don’t let it detour how you will land. But when SHE WOKE UP!!!

  •   Let go of the toxic situation- it’s a liability to your future self.

  •   Restructure your thoughts…because there is Power in Your Words!!!
