I beat the Odds….
How many of you ever beat the odds? Whether personally or professionally, it’s tough starting
over. However, when you are built to be blessed, you can conquer any odd.
While we all feel as though it is impossible to survive a toxic environment, a toxic boss, a toxic relationship, and so much more; toxicity and work trauma is real. When you know that your environment is not conducive for you to be your authentic self; it’s time to (get your hat, your coat, and leave) start over, survive, and thrive in an environment that serves you well.
I beat the odds! I have friends that beat the odds and so can you.
I am a woman over 50 and started in a new industry but as I was preparing for what was next…
I knew God was ordering my steps!
I had the experience and expertise!
I knew that I deserved better!
My work spoke for itself!
I knew they no longer deserved me!
I’m sure you are saying, that’s a lot of “I’s” Well it should be.
I was known by God before I was born. He formed me in my mother's womb. He knew what I had to offer! I matter and so do you!
I am authentic and there’s no one else like me! There’s no one like you!
I deserve to share my years of success with others! It was earned not given! (MBA included! no shade)
I’ve seen so many people start over and shape a better environment for themselves. My testimony has been or will be someone else’s life story; you can’t preach one without experiencing one. So, when you have that gut feeling that it’s time to move on…Do It! Do it because:
You are capable of so much!
Dream and Work for it!
Dream and build clarity for it!
Dream and put God first in it!
Dreams do come true because you were built for them. God built with you in mind. Go get what’s yours! - No matter if you are starting your career or have been in the workplace for many years; You Deserve to be in a space that celebrates you, welcomes your authentic self, and thrives on making a collaborative effort to build you and the team!
I beat the odds and so can YOU!!
It was WORTH IT!!
What 3 key points/lessons did I walk away with?
1 – Listen, Learn, Apply, Pivot: Learn as much as you can, Apply it to your purpose, and Pivot always. Once you have done so, do not allow anyone to tell your story. Nurture your own narrative so that the Authentic you shine through!
2 – Let go of toxic People, Places, and Things. Toxicity = Liability. – Your future self relies on Self-Care; the intentionality of your circle (family, group of friends, co-workers) should be relevant to who you are becoming in your next.
3 – Break the concrete ceiling – Sometimes taking a step back is your next step forward. Be grateful for the process because you never know how God is using you and your troubles to comfort others. God is revealing your Next – stop and listen to learn what He is revealing to you. He has already given you the weapon to do so!
